PlayFunFitness for Seniors

We are excited to announce that we will start with PlayFunFitness exercise classes for Seniors in 2017!

We incorporate specific physical exercises that stimulate both the brain and the body, reconnecting dormant and lazy neuronetworks. Every one can become healthier and happier even at an older (or rather more mature!) age. After all, studies of our DNA have shown that our natural age is actually to become a happy, healthy 120 years old. Science based physiology clearly proves that it is possible to teach an older brain new tricks!

We have developed an exercise program for seniors that is based on the concept of neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain  and nervous system to change structurally and functionally when specific areas are stimulated, bypassing other areas that have become damaged (e.g. after a stroke, with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or simply a brain that hasn’t been used optimally, becoming a bit sluggish or lazy). The exercises are chair based, therefore almost everyone can participate. We also provide 10 minute exercises after each class, for participants to do on their own, or in a group, every day. This will help to retrain and rewire the brain and body, leading to more mobility, flexibility and energy. The program is enjoyable and lots of fun, using golden oldies music to recall fond memories. The change seen in participants after just 10 minutes is incredible!
