Humus

Humus is a great dihumusp if you are in the mood for some tapas, whether you are entertaining or just need some variety. It is delicious and healthy. It is also a good idea to incorporate legumes into your diet every now and then, chickpeas here we come! You can use cucumber slices as crackers or make your own seed crackers.

You need:

  • 2x cans of chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • Juice from 2x lemons
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 150 ml Tahini (a paste of crushed sesame seed and is available at some supermarkets)
  • Red pepper & salt

Method:

  • Place the chick peas in a liquidiser with the lemon juice, garlic and olive oil
  • Add the Tahini
  • Add a little bit of boiling water to thin it out if necessary
  • Add red pepper & salt to taste
